EAT & EWB-UK: Emergency WASH Engineering Hands-on Weekend:

9th-11th of March

Engineers Without Borders UK (EWB- UK) is collaborating with Emergency Aid Training (EAT) to run a series of practical weekends  that give potential humanitarians hands-on experience of setting up emergency engineering equipment.

This weekend is programmed for 9th to 11th March in Netherton, Wakefield and will focus on emergency WASH engineering - water, sanitation, hygiene in a humanitarian emergency setting.

The weekend is not a fully fledged training course on emergency water, sanitation and hygiene but aims to give participants a good flavour of what the issues and practical considerations are in this sector.

EWB-UK & The Treehouse Festival: Solar Shower & Compost Toilet Build

EWB-UK are partnering up with the Treehouse Festival to run a Solar Shower and Compost Toilet course! In preparation for their 2012 festival, we will be creating some new facilities for all to enjoy. During the weekend you will get some hands-on construction building the solar shower and learn all you need to know about compost toilets. We may even get to have a hand at some of the other projects around the site, such as a geodesic dome and a stone age round house.
